Where The intervention of the physiotherapist is very important to improve the state of health, the management of the pain, the complications due to the prolonged rest, the infections and the acute respiratory insufficiency; Especially in people with chronic diseases such as cancer patients, who struggle with their own disease that may be at risk of progressing and may be accompanied by comorbidities associated with their neoplasm or associated comorbidities such as sepsis that may require treatment in a care unit intensive (ICU). Objective: the objective is to explore the available evidence on physiotherapeutic intervention in the patient admitted to an intensive care unit diagnosed with cancer and sepsis. Methodology: a bibliographic search was carried out through the electronic databases (PubMed, Google Scholar, Medline, PEDro, ScienceDirect and Scielo). - PublicaciónRestringidoCaracterización de los pacientes con fibrosis quística de 6 a 18 años en una fundación de Cartagena desde una perspectiva de la CIF(2012-02-20) Giraldo Castilla, Ana Luzmila; Guerrero Romero, Raisa Luz; Saballet Fernández, Betsaida; De Ávila Quintana, Luz DaryObjetivo: Caracterizar los pacientes con diagnóstico de fibrosis quística de 6 a 18 años en la fundación Yuranis en Cartagena desde una perspectiva de la CIF. Pacientes y métodos: Participaron en el estudio trece pacientes, en edades comprendidas entre 6 y 18 años: siete hombres y seis mujeres. Los criterios de inclusión y exclusión fueron: pacientes que pertenecieran a la fundación Yuranis de Cartagena y tuvieran diagnóstico confirmado de fibrosis quística con edades comprendidas en un rango de 6 a 18 años. Instrumento: CORE SET de EPOC (espirometría, índice de Barthel, observación de tronco para identificar deformidades). Resultados: Edad promedio 13,4 años (rango: 6-18). IMC fue normal en 6 pacientes (5 tenían bajo peso y 2 sobrepeso). El VEF1 evidenció que 8 de los 13 pacientes presentaron compromiso moderado (3 mostraron compromiso leve, 2 compromiso muy severo y ningún paciente presentó compromiso severo). La observación evidenció que las estructuras corporales representadas en deformidades de tronco (cifosis, tórax en tonel) presentaron afectación en cuatro pacientes. A la aplicación del índice de Barthel, todos los pacientes presentaron independencia en sus actividades de la vida diaria. Conclusiones: este estudio mostró que los pacientes con FQ de la fundación Yuranis presentaron deficiencias en la función respiración debido al nivel de obstrucción, deficiencias en estructuras corporales (estructuras de tronco), sin limitaciones de la actividad. La metodología utilizada en este estudio fue de tipo descriptivo poblacional.

These alterations can be motor, sensitive and autonomic, Lesions in the world, traumatic injuries, the situation between 40 and 80 years. raquimedular was wounded by a firearm, followed by traffic accidents. The average age was 28 years and 91% were male. The average stays in the ICU were six days, 56% of the patients required mechanical ventilation and 37% required a tracheotomy. Objective: characterize the process of rehabilitation of a patient with spinal cord injury, from their care in the ICU, to their domiciliary physiotherapeutic intervention. Methodology: Case study, where a patient with a diagnosis of spinal cord injury is presented, who underwent a pre-intervention evaluation and a subsequent re-evaluation. The information collected from the patient and significant data were obtained thanks to the information provided by the Blas de Lezo clinic, the physiotherapist in charge of the rehabilitation of the patient and corresponding readings of articles, bibliographies, etc...

GOLD COPD is defined as a treatable and, where appropriate, preventable condition that is framed by synthetic respiratory characteristics and a condition of airflow limitation. Methodology. For the preparation of this bibliographic review article, select and search the following keywords in the Health Science Descriptors (DeCS), in relation to each of the terms corresponding to Exacerbations, COPD, ICU (Exacerbations, COPD, ICU) then proceeded to the construction of sentences, which were searched through the use of databases: PubMed, Google Scholar, ElSevier, SciElo, ScienceDirect and ProQuest, which was reviewed since the year 2010 to 2018. Conclusion: COPD is one of the diseases with more hospital visits, although there are several guidelines in the literature for the prevention and control of it.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoMovilización temprana en pacientes críticos en la unidad de cuidados intensivos revisión temática(2019-02-05) Cervantes Noel, Sindy Del Carmen; Gomez Garcia, María Eugenia; De Ávila Quintana, Luz DaryResumen del artículo de revisión: Crear un lugar donde atender de manera prioritaria a los pacientes críticos o en riesgo de muerte, se convierte en una gran necesidad, para el año de 1854 durante la guerra de Crimea cuando Florence nightngale considera que es fundamental separar a los soldados en estados más graves de aquellos que solo tenían heridas menos compromiso, para atenderlos de manera especial es allí donde se logra el nacimiento de las unidades de cuidados intensivos (UCI), unas vez ingresados se pudo demostrar una reducción satisfactoria en la tasa de mortalidad de la batalla, del 40% al 2%. Luego En 1950 el Dr. Peter safar anestesiólogo creo una unidad de cuidados intensivos donde se mantenía a los pacientes sedados y ventilados, a quien consideraron el primer intensivista. Los primeros servicios de respiración artificial se realizaron en Dinamarca por Lassen Dan, Ipsen y Poulsen, en Suecia por Holmdahl y en Francia por malloret. (1) Con el pasar de los tiempos las unidades de cuidados intensivos se han ido creando al mismo tiempo que el desarrollo tecnológico y el avance de la medicina teniendo en cuenta las altas demandas de pacientes críticos. Así como existió la necesidad de crear estos lugares también fue necesario tener un concepto claro de estas.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoNivel de actividad física y percepción de la calidad de vida en adultos asmáticos en una I.P.S de Cartagena de Indias(2018-09-28) Aguilar Paternina, Karen; Coronado Nisperuza, María Victoria; De Ávila Quintana, Luz DaryOBJECTIVE: To determine the level of physical activity and the perception of quality of life in asthmatic adults of an I.P.S de Cartagena de Indias. METHODS: Transversal descriptive study in 50 adult asthmatic patients attending the Comprehensive Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center Cartagena. The level of physical activity and the perception of quality of life were assessed by means of the Ipaq short and Saint George questionnaires, respectively. When finalizing the obtained data, they were entered in Excel data base, where the frequency and percentage of the variables were obtained, later organizing them in tables. RESULTS: In this study the average age of the adults was 56 years, the age understood was 61 and 70 with 28%, 64% belongs to the female gender. 32% did not complete their academic training, 28% belong to socioeconomic stratum 1. 38% are pensioners. There was equality in single marital status and married with 32%. The BMI was established at normal weight with 38%, 56% had a low level of physical activity. Finally, the quality of life is seriously compromised with 50% for the general total. CONCLUSION: The majority of the population studied has limitations in the quality of life and a low level of physical activity. For this reason, recommendations were made to the IPS to promote the realization of physical activity and strategies to improve locality of life

Design: A cross sectional Descriptive study will be carried out. Method the population to be studied were 71 administrative staff of the University of San Buenaventura Cartagena that meets the inclusion criteria, where the Nordic Kourinca. Questionnaire is implemented, standardized for the detection and analysis of muscular symptoms and for the evaluation of the posture we will use the REBA method which allows the assessment of the physical load derived from the postures for the working time. Results: The elbow or forearm is the place that has caused the least discomfort in the last 12 months with a little less than 24% of the workers. The elbow - forearm and the hand -wrist are the areas in which respondents have received less treatment during the last 12 months with 60 and 59 respondents respectively. Conclusions: For the vast majority of workers, none of the problems in all the surveyed areas has prevented the realization of activities. therefore, it is necessary to intervene to these people to avoid that the inconveniences become a major problem that prevents the realization of their work activities, as well as activities of their family daily life.

Its main cause is smoking and currently many people suffer from it. Exacerbations of COPD can cause admission to the intensive care unit, where appropriate and integral management should be used from physiotherapy which includes mainly respiratory therapy, where the use of mechanical ventilation may be necessary, and early mobilizations, in order to preserve the respiratory function and physical abilities of the person to develop their life and their various roles. It is necessary to mention the theoretical bases that support and describe the physiotherapist's actions from the different dimensions. We present the clinical case of a 72-year-old man who enters the intensive care unit, describes the approach he received from physiotherapy every day, and presents it afterwards re-evaluation after the intervention. Objective: To know the management of COPD patients in exacerbation phase in uci Methodology: Clinical case study that deals with all the aspects related to an individual with a diagnosis of COPD who enters the intensive care unit due to pneumonia complication.
