Current prison strategies are analyzed and a model for the development of internal activities is proposed, accompanied by a prison model that seeks to reduce the high rate of recidivism in inmates who have committed minor crimes, this population has one of the highest rates The fragmentation of the model penitentiary would be located in buildings in a state of abandonment in the center of the city of Medellín, this strategy opts for a re-socialization directly with society itself with fragments of programs distributed in the city and not isolated from it.

This architectural project is located in the El Castillo neighborhood of the city of Medellín.One of the most important activities for these patients with mental disorders is the insertion they will have in society, in this case in the neighborhood community of El Castillo. Different spatial, social and natural strategies will be provided where mental patients and the inhabitants of the neighborhood can integrate and thus reduce the prejudice that exists in the face of mental illness, as well as foster an interest and care for this issue.Through organic architecture and its combination with vegetation, and other factors such as the perception of space and the sensory, we seek to provide a mental well-being to the two types of users, where they can appropriate the spaces, take a walk , enjoy art, reading, physical and group activities, a coffee, spaces on mental health care, that is to say that mental patients and the inhabi-tants of the neighborhood leave their routine that absorbs them to discover and stimulate their mind through these alternatives proposed by the development center

El TiO2 es utilizado en la construcción usualmente en lechadas para evitar la absorción del polvo y suciedades en superficies en mesones de cocina o también la lechada entre cerámicas como es el baño, patios y también en la desinfección de aguas que diariamente nos vemos sometidos directamente con el exterior. Problema: Patologías en acabados y fachadas con altos costos en mantenimientos y limpiezas de fachadas.

- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño de habitaciones de un eco-hotel en el municipio de Nariño Antioquia a partir de la estrategia: acondicionamiento térmico(2015) Medina Córdoba, Lenny Yuranny; Velez Orrego, Ana Cristina; Yucuma Hoyos, Alexandra; Mejía Barrera, Carlos AlbertoThis paper addresses the feasibility of designing a room eco-hotel in of Nariño Antioquia, from a strategy called passive thermal conditioning Canadians wells. This system is burying pipelines with a certain length at a depth established in order to achieve thermal stability of the soil. Air currents entering inside the tube vary in their temperature such that the air that enters the system will match the temperature with the soil, this system helps to get better an environment, avoiding the use of mechanical conditioning systems, reducing the energy consumption of a building. The performance and efficiency of this technique was comparing and combining it with the strategy of cross ventilation from models made with brick as a building material, compared to another one produced in Poron. The air temperature was identified before and after entering through the heat exchangers, in addition to evaluating the temperature inside the models just with had cross ventilation and cross ventilation with Canadian wells, taking the most efficient results as a strategy for designing an eco-hotel in Antioquia-Nariño.

On the other hand, the intimacy of private life and the sociability of public life are found in the hybrid building anchors to develop. The permeability of the hybrid with respect to the city makes it accessible and the private use of its equipment extends its hours of use to twenty-four hours. This implies that the activity is constant and isgoverned neither by private nor by public rhythms. This project was developed based in the recidue originated from the casting of structures made out of concrete in developed works in the municipality of Bello, Antioquia; made in a process of dying with different equipments and machines until reaching a pulverized material. The characterization of the recycled cement was made as a potential cementing for the generation of mortars; according to the NSR 10 there have been different samples elaborated with different types mixture designs in order to obtain the optimal sample, which is made with this material and portland cement
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoHabitáculo mínimo móvil para habitante de la calle(2016) Carvajal Navarro, Lina María; Mejía Barrera, Carlos AlbertoThis project tries to address the quality of life concept, that according the United Nations is: "physical wellbeing, material wellbeing, social wellbeing and emotional wellbeing" [1]; hence, you can deduce that the quality of life of a homeless person is not the most appropriate, besides they're always in the constant search of a shelter or a place that protects them from the climate changes, due to this, a cabin named "Habitáculo Mínimo Móvil, Mi.Mo" is developed, in this place it is possible to supply some basic needs for the elderly population on the streets, whose population index is of 7.8% according to the census: CENSO SECTORIAL DE HABITANTES DE Y EN LA CALLE, Medellín, 2002 made by the DANE and the ALCALDÍA DE MEDELLIN, with the purpose of contributing in the quality of life of this population sector, while they continue one of the processes of reintegration in the city of Medellin with other programs of inclusion and social regularización. This cabin, Mínimo Móvil, Mi.Mo, is an artifact, that besides from being a work tool, it becomes a space of transition, personal and of transport, that protects its users from climate changes. It becomes the habitat for people who suffer from any clinical condition during a certain period of time, whether they are in an outpatient treatment, diagnosis patients or people who need to be treated or hospitalized in order to prolong life and well-being thanks to specialized attention, aiming at eliminating or treating diseases. For so doing, it is necessary that the level of detail of such buildings to be designed in a way that allows to satisfy not only the merely functional necessities in the configurations of its spaces, but also the psychological needs of the patients who perceive reality under the adverse effects of a disease. The hospital’s physical environment should tend to protect the human dignity and personal sensitivity of the patients and their families, to reduce uncertainty and anxiety emotions, especially when the former experience difficult moments such as surgeries, emergency situations, chemotherapies, or even death. The present document intends to collect the necessary information, as well as to take the relevant design criteria in order to lay out, in a project phase, a hospital equipped with a medical specialty in neurology in the city of Medellín. In this sense, it also intends to allow an approach, from its own development, to the influence of the clinical environment in patients with neurodegenerative diseases, so as to come to an architectonic solution that contributes to the improvement in treatments for the patients

For this reason, sustainability strategies will be implemented, where the mitigation of these impacts is sought through an adequate choice of materials, orientation and form of buildings, as well as an increase in green areas in the city, achieving eco-efficiency in urban design, having a low impact in relation to the landscape, and an adequate development of public space, thus reinterpreting the guidelines of the Partial Plan by generating new design premises for the redensification of the city center, incorporating urban climatology criteria to understand the relationship between planning, urban design and climate and its influence on thermal comfort and urban microclimate.

This research starts from the study of this syndrome and its possible presence in Medellín, emphasizing the office buildings located downtown.The study of these buildings has the purpose of determining the presence of the syndrome with its different factors, to propose a healthy office building model of the buildings that already exist, as well as an architectural proposal for a new office building, all along with a proposal to improve the social, economic and environmental dynamics of the city center.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoSistema de notificación de emergencias en incendios estructurales aplicados en los colegios privados del barrio el poblado en Medellín(2022) Mejía Barrera, Carlos Alberto; Polania Alarcón, Olga Camila; Banguera Cortes, Nataly EstefanyEl sistema de notificación de emergencias, puede definirse que permita aglomerar cadena de operaciones, ocupaciones y dispositivos, donde su relación evita los deterioros y desgastes que se logren ocasionar por la ejecución de una emergencia; estas parten comenzando en informar y participar el suceso inclusive los ejercicios de cuidado. Los equipos deben relacionarse con el procedimiento para dar avisos oíbles y perceptibles con sirenas, luces, mensajes y mucho más. Las instituciones educativas que se identifiquen y reconozcan la importante de un sistema de notificación de sucesos contra incendios dentro de sus instituciones y que el personal que pertenece a este, se encuentre preparado, formado y capacitado para atender una emergencia.
