During the work it was identified that due to the large number of criteria under which the models can be evaluated and the existence of more than twenty existing maturity models, it is a complex task for the organizations to define which model can be applied. The chapter below identifies the differences and similarities between the most recognized maturity models in project management. The existing information about maturity models for project management was collected, classified and analyzed in such a way that it was possible to identify selection criteria for maturity models. With the established criteria, a comparison was made between these.

For the completion of this project, the application of a variety of tools such as SMED and 5s has been principal to the task to decrease the preparation times of the extruder machine 301, cable lines of medium tension, and a statistical analysis executed via the program Minitab v16.

Para el desarrollo de este trabajo se realizaron los siguientes pasos: investigación sobre el arte de las herramientas a utilizar, se realizo un diagnostico utilizando herramientas como diagramas de flujo, diagrama de recorrido, lluvia de ideas, diagrama de pescado, estudio de tiempos y movimientos, seguido a esto se planteo el plan de mejora continua basado en las herramientas de 5s y control visual realizando así la implementación del mismo y por último se hizo la medición de los resultados con el fin de mostrar los resultados obtenidos. Con esta implementación se redujo las actividades que no agregan valor de 1.72 min y se obtuvo un costo de oportunidad de 17.018.880.

Reducing costs, time and waste become critical elements that must be attacked by organizations seeking to remain in force in the market. The study aims to design an improvement action plan based on SMED and 5’S tools to reduce the time of changes in the lathes cell a company in the metalworking sector. The tools used herein are: SMED and 5’S , applied at all stages to generate by a team , opportunities for improvement necessary to optimize the manufacturing process on the lathe , based on a diagnosis and identification of the root causes that relate to : lack of standard procedures , inadequate distribution of work areas and lack of training , which prompted the organization to undertake a set of activities economic investment and staff time to obtain a efficient working method.

Based on the above and to know the customer's satisfaction, a survey was carried out on all their current customers. The result of the survey showed that 65% of the customers presented a disagreement with the delivery time, which was verified with the review of orders, where of 229 units manufactured from January to October 2015, 59% had delays of 1 To 3 days in their delivery time. For the reasons explained above, the objective of this project is to analyze the causes that generate the problem and in this way identify actions aimed at reducing the non-compliance with the delivery times of the product.

Company in the city of Cali under the methodology DMAIC using the hardware of Lean Six Sigma. In the year 2015 the waste was 40. 247 Kg equivalent to 12 % of the annual entire production generating one on cost $ 226. 309. 636. It is expected as well as this study should allow to define clearly the causes roots, which serve like starting point so that decisions adapted in the correct moment are taken and that the functioning that is had is efficient. The above mentioned implementation allows to control the waste levels and they provide solid bases to achieve an adjustment in the excesses of costs, resources and time, which allow the improvement of new operative methods in the company. After this proposal resembles it will be possible to generate a culture of continuous progress in some of the processes and with it, the client perceives an added value, which improved in the time, turns into a competitive advantage.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño de un plan de mejora para incrementar el índice de recuperación de cartera del Plan Colectivo en empresa del sector salud, Regional Suroccidente – Cali(Universidad de San Buenaventura, 2018) Cobo Aguilera, Johan Nicolás; Matallana Mesa, Diana Carolina; Pérez Vergara, Ileana Gloria; Rivera García, Julián AndrésThe Lean Six Sigma project is oriented to increase the portfolio recovery index of the collective plan in a company of the health sector in Cali - Colombia, bearing in mind that the output variable (Y) of the project is being negatively impacted by the little availability of the auxiliary to carry out the collection activities of said plan, since it presents a high degree of operative load for activities that do not generate value to the process. This is why the methodology proposed by the DMAIC cycle and its engineering tools are used to solve this problem. The project methodology is initially approached with the Define phase, which describes the background of the process, the scope, objectives, impacts and benefits to be obtained in it. Then, in the measuring phase, the identified critical variables (X's) are determined and quantified, prioritizing and analyzing the capacity of the process, which allows the objectives set in the project to be landed. In the analysis phase, the causes of the problem are studied in detail, along with possible alternative solutions. In the improvement phase, it corresponds to the execution of the action plan proposed to give solution to the problem. Finally, in the control phase, the results obtained are compared with those that existed before the improvement and the pertinent mechanisms, metrics and tools are established to ensure the maintenance of the results obtained in the project.

Considering this, the percentage of day defects was taken as a measurement variable, based on the requirements established by the company. The costs directly affect the company due to the defects that are generated; in fact, the imperfect units must be reprocessed and recovered in an additional process causing additional costs. Due to this, it is decided to evaluate each of the alternatives solutions proposed in this project to reduce the percentage of defects 2.3% having the current level at 13.17% and positively impact on the operating costs of the company. As well, the alternatives solutions was standardized to ensure that the percentage of defects continues decreasing at the end of the project.

Taking this into account, a measurement variable was taken on the percentage of waste. Waste directly affects the company in its costs, since the waste generated by the soy process cannot be recovered because it is exposed in the environment (soil, air, among others). Due to this problem, it is decided to evaluate each solution alternative proposed in the project to reduce the percentage of waste to 7% having an average of 9.23% and the last data gives 7.67% and positively impact the costs of the operation. In the measure stage, a format is created in order to be able to collect the necessary data and thus be able to get a strong base for our project.Subsequently, with the data obtained and with the analysis tools we managed to achieve the root causes of our project, in order to achieve waste reduction, finally after making the improvement, the before and after comparison is compared in order to demonstrate the change .

En la empresa seleccionada, el plan de mantenimiento no es controlado y por lo tanto se generan tareas adicionales, que conllevan a la ejecución de mantenimiento correctivo programado y a un incumplimiento del presupuesto de gastos de mantenimiento preventivo. Este trabajo contribuye a la solución de una problemática en una empresa de alimento cárnico, tomando como apoyo la aplicación de: la metodología Optimización de Mantenimiento Preventivo, herramientas de decisión de la metodología Mantenimiento Centrado en la Confiabilidad y herramientas de ingeniería industrial. Por lo tanto, con la aplicación de este proyecto, se puede concluir que el uso de herramientas de ingeniería industrial, realiza un aporte significativo a la mejora de la gestión del mantenimiento, pues permite implementar un proceso de mejora continua, mediante un procedimiento que busca evaluar permanente.

- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño de un sistema integral de vivienda de emergencia sostenible en los municipios de la zona norte del departamento del Cauca(2017-02-01) Cerón, Sergio; Pérez Vergara, Ileana GloriaEsta tesis pretende dar a conocer un proyecto de diseño de un sistema integral de vivienda de emergencia sostenible, que resuelva las necesidades básicas de habitabilidad temporal de las poblaciones vulnerables a causa de desastres naturales o conflicto armado en la zona norte del departamento del Cauca. Esta investigación comprende un desarrollo progresivo que inicia desde la recopilación bibliográfica hasta llegar al resultado del diseño del sistema de vivienda temporal, donde a lo largo del proceso se estudiaron: antecedentes históricos y su relevancia teórica que aclararon conceptos para alcanzar los objetivos trazados, propuestas similares ejecutadas en Colombia y el impacto que han generado, la aceptabilidad de la propuesta, y la pertinencia del proyecto en curso. De esta manera se pudo construir un marco referente para diseñar un modelo habitacional dentro de un sistema de vivienda sostenible, donde se concluye que basado en las condiciones estudiadas de la necesidad y los diseños como respuesta a estas necesidades, es un proyecto que deberá incorporarse a un programa Regional y/o Nacional de prevención y atención de desastres en busca de lograr su realización, con el fin de resolver esta problemática desde los ámbitos: social, ambiental y económico para lograr una ejecución integral y sostenible.

The DMAIC methodology was used to carry out this project, which consists of five phases (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) that allowed the identification of internal and external clients' needs to subsequently measure the performance of the indicator "% Defective units" to find the causes that generate representative defects along the production line, allowing action plans to be implemented, performance evaluation and continuous improvement.

A(2012) Cifuentes Laguna, Ana María; Vásquez García, Carolina; Ocampo, Diana Marcela; Pérez Vergara, Ileana GloriaEl presente documento es un aporte práctico realizado a la empresa Industrias del Maíz S.A. de la ciudad de Cali, cuyo propósito fue colocar al servicio de su área de inventarios, parte del conocimiento académico aprendido como ingenieros industriales, en virtud de contribuir con una propuesta de mejora en la gestión de inventarios del producto Harina de Buñuelos Blend. En primera instancia se desarrolló un diagnóstico situacional donde se detectó que la organización tiene dificultades para satisfacer de manera adecuada la demanda de sus clientes en el producto Harina de Buñuelos Blend, donde alcanza un nivel de servicio del 75%. Entre las principales causas se encuentra la carencia de una política de inventario que garantice de manera objetiva con herramientas de pronóstico, un cumplimiento de por lo menos el 95% en su nivel de servicio, que es el objetivo propuesto por la empresa.

During 2015, the 11.58% of the total kilograms produced correspond to non-conforming product (PNC). It is classified in this way because it is a product that does not meet the requirements of the standards which the company is certified, such as NTC 1746, NTC 4585-2, Resolution 1166 of June 20th 2006 and ISO 9001: 2008, therefore it is considered as waste. The objective of this project is to reduce the percentage of PNC, by implementing Lean Six Sigma (LSS), based on the DMAIC tool, which comprises five phases, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Based on this model of continuous improvement was possible to identify the root causes of the problem, and for the last year incurred costs of 328,204,183 COP which 74.5% were associated with defects caused by incorrect marking. By implementing Lean tools and Japanese philosophy, the non-conforming product was reduced from 11.58% to 7.70% with an real savings associated 13'338.355 COP in May 2016 compared to the same period last year, and the projected annual saving is 395'006.803 COP based on the target set at the beginning of the project, it is expected to reach a 4.60% of non-conforming product. In this regard, it can say that with statistical monitoring and implementation of Lean tools is possible to determine the root causes of the problems, solve them and standardize the improvements, bringing an end to some of the causes of variation in the non-conforming product in Corema.
