- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAcercamiento del servicio integral de atención de control prenatal de la madre gestante rural del corregimiento de Santa Elena a su lugar de residencia(2021) Rincón Gonzáles, Julián Andrés; Torres Arango, MarceloThe Colombian health system was structured based on Law 100 (Official Gazette No. 41,148 of December 23, 1993), which has turned it into a source of corruption of great magnitude that, as a consequence, its greatest shortcomings are coverage, provision of services, lack of human talent and the precarious economic situation of health providers. (Velez, 2016). The right to health in Colombia as a fundamental right, considered by law 1751 of February 16, 2015. (LLano, 2015) The term Rural in Colombia, must be looked at from the geographical, demographic, cultural and political point of view in order to determine the possible causes that may affect the health of the populations that are in these contexts, in Colombia the differentiation between rural and rural areas. urban has been linked to the Censuses; Thus, in the last censuses, rural was defined as: areas not included within the perimeter of the municipal head, areas located outside the urban perimeter, that is, populated centers and in the rest of the municipality, and in turn there are the following categories of rurality: cities and agglomerations, intermediate, rural and dispersed rural. Although it loses less and less of its inhabitants in others due to its location, its population increases more and more, an increase that occurs without rigorous planning elements, such as the demand for quality health. In the case of Santa Elena, the population that is increasing presents a situation where its inhabitants must travel long distances to receive medical attention.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño de estrategias experienciales para los acompañantes de los pacientes hospitalizados(2018) Montoya Delgado, Laura Andrea; Torres Arango, MarceloAll admissions in the hospital include some benefits for whom is in a hospitalization stage that allow the patient going into a process that will contribute to his recovery. Also, they have the right to be visited with restricted schedule and an almost full time companion to assist this process, staying with him when good care is needed, contributing to reduce critic moments and hasting the patient’s recovery. During this investigation, it is important to question all lacks of the environment that might affect directly or indirectly the companion’s stay based on the changes of daily habits; the colors, the smell and the energy this could contain. Since the companion’s experiences at hospitals have not been investigated deeply, the idea is shaping a strategy through a system that solves out the needs that the companion might have during his stay, which makes necessary a system that contributes to the solution, providing needed information and making communications easier in this context; promoting simple and common actions from the companion to enhance the patient’s care and self-care. The project concludes with the configuration of the strategy for the practice and care supported on digital media that will also allow to show some other points that will strengthen the experience from a more human perspective that will bring benefits for the companion as well as for the hospital
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño de experiencia para fomentar el uso de la bicicleta como medio de transporte en la ciudad de Medellín(2019) Díez Gómez, Nicolás; Franco Flórez, Mariana; Torres Arango, MarceloThe project is based on the current environmental contamination situation in the city of Medellín, which has forced the institutions to adopt strategies, policies, preventive measures, among other alternatives that aim to reduce the use of the automobile as a means of transportation, inviting all the actors on the road to transport themselves more sustainably; for example, the peak and environmental plaque, which by means of informative elements and sanctions to the offenders of this measure, invite the citizen to desist from the private vehicle and resort to the use of public transport, or share the private vehicle with other passengers, or adopt the bicycle for transport or economic incentives and benefits from public and private companies to employees who are transported to work by bicycle. Despite these actions, the citizen of Medellín finds it difficult to adopt the bicycle for transport, due to factors independent of geodemographic factors, such as the lack of interconnection of the bicycle path, the lack of a luminaire for it, and the lack of signaling of the same; and especially the road insecurity that occurs in the intersections and intersections where cyclists, pedestrians and motorists come together, these being the points of greatest mortality and morbidity of cyclists in the city. For this reason, an urban system was designed to illuminate the cycle path, inform the cyclist of the traffic light status, reduce the speed of the cyclist and provide the cyclist with support for the foot when waiting. It consists of a support element to the foot, which has integrated lighting and in turn is visually supported from the technique of 3D painting on the bicycle, inviting the bicycle user through it to reduce their speed and then make use of the element
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño paramétrico de marcos de bicicleta mediado por software en pro de la mejora de la personalización y de los procesos de producción(2021) Cadavid Fernández, Francisco Iván; Torres Arango, MarceloEvery design of a frame for a bicycle includes several factors, among which there are the necessary processes to make them, the type of material that is most appropriate to guarantee its durability and resistance, and the anthropometric relationships so that it adjusts to the person who will use it. All these factors must be taken into account when producing the frame, in addition, the type of frame to be designed and the person who will use it must be considered, since it must meet certain requirements in order to function correctly and provide the user with security. In the research, the analysis was carried out on all the processes of elaboration of frames for bicycles, which are the most used materials and it was evaluated if in the context of the Medellín context all the elaboration processes could be elaborated with the purpose of reducing the expenses of production and sale to the public. The design of components for bicycles in Colombia in the last decade has increased and for this reason this field was explored to take advantage of industrial resources of the city, encourage the use of bicycles in sports and find a way to optimize costs in production to make it much more affordable to potential customers. The project concludes with the design of a frame for a bicycle of the rin 20 typology that, from its very configuration, allows it to be adapted to the anthropometric measurements of people, and that allows from its design to generate variations in the gauges and diameters of the material with which it is manufactured. and at the same time that the design process is more automated and the production process is streamlined.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoTratamiento de disminución del dolor para personas con síndrome del miembro fantasma en extremidades inferiores tras amputación transfemoral tercio distal(2018) Valencia Vélez, Edgar Alexander; Sánchez Morales, Andrés; Torres Arango, MarceloThis project proposes a solution for the ailment of Phantom Limb Pain Syndrome through an autonomous treatment product, easy portability and accessibility for any social group. For this, a group of individuals with different levels and causes of amputation, of both sexes, with a stable stump and presenting the Phantom Limb Pain Syndrome in the lower limb were evaluated. The pain index was assessed in Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Methods of data collection were used through audiovisual recordings, open interviews with users and observation of the various activities at the time of therapy. The frequency with which this condition occurs varies significantly in those affected, making them prone to suffer episodes in any space or time, which affects their quality of life and interpersonal relationships. It was concluded that pain rehabilitation should be multidisciplinary in nature, where design is a fundamental part in helping the overall wellbeing of people, since the portable product facilitates the reduction of pain by allowing those affected to perform their therapies in an autonomous and particular in any environment where Phantom Limb Pain arises
