Initially, this article exhibits a frame of basic concepts about anaerobic digestion (AD), the main difference between dry anaerobic digestion and wet anaerobic digestion consists of the content of total solids (TS) being >15% TS for dry AD and <15% TS for wet AD. The objectives of this article are: to do a comparative analysis of wet and dry anaerobic digestion technologies, to identify the chronological evolution of dry AD, as a more efficient technology, through a timeline of publications; and to contrast the engineering used in dry AD and wet AD to define operative differences in their technology and to compare both dry and wet AD microbiology to establish operative differences in their technology. The research method implemented was a descriptive one. As a conclusion, it could be identified that researches related to dry AD or solid-state AD have been having a crescent growth in the past years and at the same time they have been modeling mathematical models that have allowed the improvement or optimization of this process. Furthermore, it could be clearly established that dry AD and wet AD processes differ a lot although a difference on the microorganisms involved in said processes couldn’t be found.

(2020-07-28) Martínez Álvarez, Olga Raquel; Castro Benitez, Ariana Isabel; Barguil Moré, Yolanda María
This article presents the results of the research on the energy consumption present in a typology of colonial housing: high house with mezzanine, case study of the Casa del Consulado in the historic center of Cartagena; who seeks to give an answer to the problem of deficit of thermal and light comfort existing in some spaces of these homes, which in the vast majority, in the restoration processes choose to provide solutions through mechanical lighting and ventilation systems and equipment, which any generators have higher energy service costs than natural ventilation systems, generated by the excessive use of these systems. The investigation is of an explanatory and exploratory type, the quality part of the realization of the architectural survey, environmental measurements of temperature and relative humidity in different spaces of the house, the results that are considered as a higher incidence of temperature and humidity in the lateral bays, in which the following research is done. This problem is not only reflected in the colonial and republican homes in the historic center, but also in neighboring neighborhoods, in which an architecture little thought and misguided in relation to environmental and physical determinants is seen, aside from the context in the that these can be developed.

(2018-06-07) Aldana Morales, Melissa Johana; Castillo Orozco, Karol Andrea; Rangel Duran, Luis Miguel; Pusey Rose, Farony; Velaides Orellano, Mileidys; Orozco Camacho, Nidia
In Colombia it is a requirement from the government that high school students must graduate with the level B1 according to the Common European Framework of references for languages. However, this situation does not match the reality according to the results of the previous years of the “Pruebas Saber 11” the test applied to prove their levels, on the contrary these results show that 11th grade students are graduating with A1 level. This article presents an analysis of the institutional conditions of public schools of Cartagena to help students of 11th grade develop the communicative competence in English to obtain the B1 level. Through a qualitative ethnographic methodology, it was possible to find out that the institutional conditions in a public school of Cartagena, Colombia are inappropriate for 11th grade students to develop the level B1. The Ministry of National Education lay out objectives and ignore the reality of the logistic conditions and teacher’s pedagogical practices. This article concluded that the effect of these actions brings more prejudice than benefits.

(2018-09-25) Ospino Arteta, Melissa Margarita; Morón Campos, Miguel Antonio
In November 2016, the University of San Buenaventura Cartagena, represented by a group of students, made the academic route to the United States where the United Nations Organization and the Organization of American States are located in order to know the functioning of their structure and the importance of the influence of these organizations in the region, in addition to broadening and deepening the knowledge acquired from the academy so that contributions on international rights can be made. Given the above, the personal motivation of the author was generated by knowing and analyzing the processes in the application of the democratic charter as an instrument that safeguards democracy in the countries of the American organization, that is why the country was taken as reference of Honduras, specifically the case of the coup d'état in June 2009, since it has different origins and causes of the constitutional rupture compared to other countries, besides being the most recent case of the region. Therefore, this paper presents issues related to the causes, consequences and efficiency of the measures adopted by the OEA, to achieve the restoration of the democratic system in Honduras; all this in order to build an exhaustive analysis on the measures implemented by said organization for the referenced case.

(2018-06-05) Barajas Patiño, Caty Milena; Ruiz Olivo, Rut Mary

The substitution of fossil fuel for one of biological origin, has become one of the great challenges for Colombia and the whole world, becoming a viable alternative the production and use of biofuels, because these do not increase the emissions of CO2 and other gaseous emissions that pollute the atmosphere, as opposed to diesel of fossil origin which negatively impacts the environment and human health. The purpose of this article is to make an analysis of the prospective of the African palm production chain to obtain biodiesel in Colombia and its environmental impact. Therefore, a type of documentary research was proposed, which consists in extracting, compiling, organizing and synthesizing the relevant information of the subject, in order to disseminate a reference material. The results show that although biodiesel is a viable alternative to contribute to the environment, it has advantages and disadvantages for its production, in terms of road infrastructure, environmental regulations, biofuel blends policy with fossil fuels, skilled labor, technologies, among others.

(2019-05-21) Pombo Román, Antonio José de; Murillo Amarís, Edwin
The following is an qualitative descriptive bibliographic review article that is carried out with the objective of showing the learning identified by multiple authors on the peace processes in Colombia during the period between 1982 and 2018 and whose recognition as "successful" will eventually allow the formulation of a Colombian international cooperation (IC) scheme offer in peace processes, which also makes the national experience visible and contributes to the appropriation of learning as a strategy for a stable and lasting peace. This subdivision is made with the intention of making visible the weight of this phenomenon against the bibliographic universe in review. As a result, the material is validated against the ten categories for the success of the peace processes proposed by Pizarro (2011). Finally, the Potential and Achieved categories are proposed to expose both the leadership and the challenges of a possible offer of cooperation on peace issues led by the Colombian state

The learning evaluation process is structured as a fundamental tool to improve the teaching and learning processes, primarily if it is developed from a formative perspective, such as what is proposed in the new trends on evaluation of learning and Decree 1290 of April 16 of 2009. Under this perspective, the present research project, Conceptions and evaluative teaching practices: a look at two institutions in the Municipality of Magangué, sought to analyze the existing relationship from the understanding of Decree 1290/09, with the purpose of unveiling better the phenomenon studied, thus generating a reflection from the same pedagogical exercise, so that the results thrown up during the evaluationprocess of learning are not understood as quantitative figures of the teaching-learning process. For this reason, the methodological design, which underpins the research is the interpretive hermeneutical paradigm. In correspondence with this paradigm, research was based on the qualitative approach, since intentionality is "to interpret the phenomenon according to the meanings it has for the people involved" (Rodríguez, Gil & García 1996. P.32). Consequently, the method used in tune with the qualitative approach was the dialectic hermeneutic, as it potentializes the best possible interpretation of writings, words and human behavior, generating an approach with the research subject. Which was developed with the participation of twenty three teachers, with whom a self-administered questionnaire, a focus group and the observation of two classes were applied...

Introduction: With the implementation of the national blood policy in Colombia, blood banks changed donor recruitment strategies and significantly reduced the number of donors targeted by increasing the number of voluntary or altruistic donations, in compliance with the objectives set by this policy. improve the quality of the selection to guarantee protection to the donor and the recipient. However, donation of altruistic blood decreases iron levels. This topic of general impact has been studied by different authors, who manifest the iron deficiency caused by other factors. Objective: To determine the prevalence of serum ferritin deficiency in altruistic donors of blood banks taking into account gender, age and previous donations from a systematic review. Methodology: A bibliographic review was carried out electronically selecting 50 articles of great importance, through a broad search in databases in both Spanish and English, which include Scielo, Science diretc, PubMed; Medigraphic published between 2005 and 2017 and reports from the National Institute of Health. Conclusion: In this search, we were able to confirm the existence of changes in serum ferritin concentration during each blood donation made by regular donors in blood banks. A relation was established between the search performed through 15 articles in which the values were presented with percentage values prevailed of the deficient levels of ferritin in the donors properly referre

    (2014) Ballesteros Paz, Laura Vanessa
