The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of a force and plyometry training protocol, compared to the usual training, on explosive strength indicators and quality of life related to the health of a group of basketball players of the children's category of the municipality of Sabaneta-Antioquia over a period of 10 weeks. Method: Twenty-two teenage female athletes between the ages of 12 and 17 were randomly assigned to an experimental group (GE; n. 11) and a control group (GC; n. 11). Participants were evaluated at the beginning and after the squat jumping training program (SJ), counter-movement jump (CMJ), Abalakov test and medical balloon throwing (MBT) and health-related quality of life (CVRS) Results: No statistically significant results were had in explosive force indicators, although it is clear that the GE is above the GC minus in the MBT indicator. CVRS had a statistically significant result in mental health p≤0.01 where the GC obtained 56.85±3.74 and GE 49.48±8.29, however, this does not indicate that CVRS is in a bad perception for the GE group, considering that a score equal to or greater than 50 is a seemingly good perception of CVRS. Discussion: It is not common to perceive pliometric training during basketball seasons, because they are given priority to technical and tactical aspects, in addition to the high intensity during practices. However, because of the characteristics of the sport it is necessary to combine training programs that contain strength and pliometry. Conclusion: Strength training, combined with pliometry, does not appear to have a statistically significant effect on explosive force indicators in basketball players. Likewise, despite not altering perception versus CVRS, this type of protocol does not increase the level of physical and mental satisfaction of the players
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoRelación entre fuerza explosiva, ejercicios excéntricos y dolor en tendón rotuliano en basquetbolistas de Cartagena(2018-09-27) Ortega Cafiel, Dariana; Torres Marrugo, Saret Vanesa; Puerta Mateus, Keily CatherineIntroduction: Basketball one of the most popular sports in the world, the injury rate is high, in lower limbs one of the most frequent is patellar tendinitis, which is evaluated with the explosive strength test and prevented with exercises eccentric Objective: To determine the relationship that exists between eccentric exercises, explosive strength and pain in the patellar tendon in Cartagena basketball players. Methodology: Cross-sectional, analytical study, in which 27 Basketball athletes from Cartagena participated, who met the inclusion criteria. The Abalakov test, the VISA P SP questionnaire and the eccentric exercise surveys carried out by the participants in their sporting life were carried out. The statistical program SPSS was used, nonparametric tests were used. Chi-square test with Yates correction. Phi coefficient, Kruskal - Wallis test and Cohen f. Results: The relationship between jump with impulse and the number of eccentric exercises performed resulted in P-value 0.07 and the same jump in relation to the average of exercises performed was P-value 0.007. The relationship between pain in the patellar tendon was not determined because only one athlete presented pain and minimal pain. Conclusion: It was determined that there is a strong relationship between the eccentric exercises and the explosive strength in lower limbs, therefore, it can be inferred that the more eccentric exercises the athletes perform, the more strength they will obtain when performing the jumps in their lower limbs
