World Health Organization (WHO) figures show that the world population is increasing chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCDS), such as obesity, hypertension, atherosclerosis and type II diabetes mellitus; leading to increased cardiovascular disease (EC), representing the leading cause of death worldwide. The interventions in physical activity have been shown to have effects on the body composition and the VO2, variables that seem to decrease the cardiovascular risk, however the most efficient load parameters, are still in discussion, therefore arises the Question about the effects of cross-training vs. traditional training on body composition and peak Vo2 in women and men 18 to 45 years of age subjected to 8 weeks of training at the Ultra Wellness Center Fitness Center. Methodology: Study of experimental cut simple blind and parallel, approved by the Ethics Committee of the University San Buenaventura Medellin. The intervention was carried out in 2 groups randomised and subjected to 8 weeks of intervention, in cross and traditional training; We analyzed variables such as Vo2 Pico, and body composition. Sample size calculation was performed through EPIDAT version 4.0 and pre and post statistical data were analyzed through SPSS V. 21 Software Results: There were No differences between the statistically significant groups in the population before the intervention; indicating that the basal variables were homogeneous, later on the intervention found significant differences in the abdominal perimeter variable, > P = 0.05 of the cross training individuals who decreased 2 centimeters After 8 weeks of intervention; However, the body composition variable did not have statistically significant changes
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEfectos en la composición corporal, frecuencia cardiaca de reposo y consumo máximo de oxígeno cuando se aplica un método de entrenamiento físico HIIT en jóvenes universitarios entre 19 y 34 años aparentemente sanos(2018) Rodríguez Mosquera, Darwin Humberto; Rivadeneira Toro, Eddie Rafael; Martínez Arboleda, Juan Esteban; Moya Ortega, Marvyn GiovannyThe purpose of this research was to know if the method of HIIT training is efficient when it comes to sports training. The sample consisted of 8 people between 19 and 34 years of age, divided into group control and experimental group, each of these is of 4 people, 3 men and one woman for each group. The objective of the research was to establish the changes in body composition, heart rate in rest and maximum consumption of oxygen when applied physical training HIIT. This work is quasi - experimental, because there are two groups, an experimental group which was applied a HIT during 10 sessions method and a control group that followed with its conventional continuous training. The allocation to each group was for convenience, applied measurements before and after the intervention. The results indicate that significant differences in the variables evaluated there are
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoHabilidades físicas y composición corporal en relación con la drogodependencia activa en usuarios de una fundación de resocialización en Cartagena de Indias: una línea de base(2021-08-30) Mestre Rodríguez, Alexandra; Valeth Espeleta, Maria Andrea; Díaz Vidal, Diana MilenaIntroduction: Drug dependence is the repeated consumption of psychoactive substances (SPA), which generate a reduction in consumer activities. In this case, prolonged consumption of SPA, in addition to causing negative effects on the social environment, trigger harmful effects on brain functioning, which leads to possible changes in physical abilities (strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance and orientation space-time) and body composition. Objective: To evaluate the behavior of physical abilities and body composition in relation to active drug dependence in users of a resocialization foundation in Cartagena de Indias. Materials and Methods: 30 male users were selected as the total population of the foundation and a cross-sectional analytical cohort study was conducted where several tests were performed to assess each of the physical abilities, in addition Tanita HBF-510LA was used to obtain the composition body of the participants. The data were analyzed by the statistical program SPSS version 23. Results: No relationship was found between active drug dependence with abdominal strength P = 0.599, squat strength P = 0.608, push up force P = 0.597, deep flexibility P = 0.657 , coordination P = 0.773, balance P = 0.520, orientation P = 0.423, BMI P = 0.624, muscle mass P = 0.543, body fat P = 0.093 and with visceral fat P = 0.427. Conclusion: Although no relationship was found between the variables, it was determined that the time of consumption if it exerts negative effects on the performance of physical abilities and body composition decreasing body percentages that cause possible metabolic complications and muscle weakness
