This parameter is estimated from measurements such as those specified in ISO type parameters. As for example, regulation 354 estimates the coefficient of absorption at random incidence through the measurement in reverberant chamber and regulation 10534 estimates the absorption at normal incidence using as a tool a tube of standing waves. Most manufacturers of absorbent materials have the estimated absorption coefficient between the frequencies of 125 Hz to 4000 Hz. The low frequency range is usually not reported since the absorption coefficient is not relevant, although it is also of interest in the implementation and therefore an evaluation is necessary. This project aims to find a methodology that allows, through international methods and analytical methods, to estimate the absorption coefficient at low frequency when the thickness of three absorbent materials increases, Frescasa (glass wool), Acustiplaca (pressed rock wool) and Acustifibra (pressed glass wool). The study focuses on the study of frequencies between 63 Hz to 250 Hz, in addition to this, the effect of estimating the absorption coefficient on different distributions is investigated. For this purpose, panels with several layers of absorbent material have been designed to be measured by ISO 354, placing the panels in two positions, vertical and horizontal. The absorption coefficient is estimated using several layers of absorbent material according to ISO 10534-1 in impedance tube. With the proposed methodology, the measurements in the impedance tube were analyzed according to layers of material to determine how to modify the absorption coefficient as the thickness increases. In a reverberant chamber, measurements can be made with the multilayer panels in a vertical position and in a horizontal position. As an analytical method, the Allard and Champoux absorption model is implemented by varying the thickness of the materials and taking into account the resistivity value for each material. With the results obtained, it was concluded that the thickness of the absorbent materials increases, which represents an increase in the absorption coefficient at low frequencies and is also a physical characteristic that predominates over density. However, it is necessary in future studies to define the feasibility of this method, in order to optimize the strategies that are required in each case of acoustic conditioning that link problems in low frequency.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAnálisis de la incidencia de los valores de tortuosidad en la precisión del modelo matemático de Allard y Champoux para calcular el coeficiente de absorción de materiales a partir de mediciones de tortuosidad, realizadas mediante el método de ultrasonido desarrollado por Paolo Bonfiglio y Francesco Pompoli(2016) Rodríguez Velásquez, Daniel; Garza Agudelo, Diana MaríaThis project seeks to analyze the incidence of tortuosity values in the accuracy of the mathematical model of Allard and Champoux to calculate the absorption coefficient of materials from measurements of tortuosity, performed by ultrasound method developed by Paolo Bonfiglio and Francesco Pompoli; for this was done a characterization of the device and preliminary measurements in order to verify the correct operation of the measurement system. The results of the analysis showed that the values of tortuosity influence the calculation of the absorption coefficient of materials however it was not possible to determine whether this dependence between both values is directly or inversely proportional. - PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAplicación del método de medición de pérdida por transmisión de acuerdo a la norma ASTM E2611-09 incluyendo un quinto micrófono de medición como referencia para estimar parámetros acústicos como la pérdida por transmisión y los coeficientes de absorción y reflexión(2017) Gómez Salazar, Juan Camilo; Ruiz Sánchez, SantiagoDifferent materials produced in the national industry for acoustic design and noise control are implemented in Colombia. Those materials behavior and their interactions with sound waves should be known to the well development of this project. Therefore, this paper intends to apply the method established in the standard ASTM E2611-09 with the objective of presenting measurements to obtain acoustic parameters of the materials as: transmission loss, absorption and reflection coefficients. Different tests were performed on the transmission tube system, making a modification that was based on the implementation of a fifth measurement microphone in its initial stage. Audio samples were obtained to be processed in the algorithm that allowed to characterize the different materials. Besides, variations were made in the assembly, and it was found that those materials are sensitive to changes in the variables present in the system. Additionally, the design of a measurement protocol was carried out in order to maintain a stability in methodology and results. The transmission loss values obtained were compared with the project that designed the system. It made possible to find that modifying the system allows getting results that are close to the theoretical curve and for this acoustic property it gives an improvement in the coherence between the signals. Based on the compared and validated values, the other acoustic parameters were obtained in which the absorption coefficient was compared with the materials data already characterized. Finally, it was concluded that the method achieves different acoustic parameters, but does not correctly and completely describe the behavior of all properties such as the absorption coefficient. In the same way, it was established that the method is a possible alternative for the acoustic characterization of materials.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño y construcción de herramienta de medición in situ a incidencia normal de coeficiente de absorción de materiales no convencionales basado en la ISO 10534-1(2019) López Moncayo, Daniel Giovanny; Berrio Bernal, Juan DavidThis brief overview shows in detail the process of research and development for the construction and fine tuning of a type in-situ, Kundt's tube based on ISO 10534-1 standard, this tool is used in the measurement of the absorption coefficients of different acoustic materials, its preparation follows the proposed construction methodologies and subsequently performs comparison in their performance to a classical Kundt's tube. The processing of the data extracted from the measurement activities are analyzed using the technique of randomized experiments helped of a software tool of statistics, resulting in that the behavior of made tube handmade presents a response which, although statistically it shows differences, these follow the behavior of the classic tube provided by Universidad de San Buenaventura. Finally, it can be concluded that within the tube manufacturing process on-site employed common materials of easy acquisition achieving a behavior similar to the classic tube as well as having a portable measuring element
