- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoClima social y vivencias académicas en estudiantes de una Universidad de Cartagena(2017-02-20) Suárez Castellón, Karol; Noreña Correa, Manuel FabiánThe present quantitative study, with descriptive cross - sectional, non - experimental design, is carried out with a sample of 97 students from the Psychology program at a University from Cartagena, with the objective of describing their perception of the Social Climate of the classroom and the academic experiences in the institution, two questionnaires were used to measure both variables: School social climate (Moos, R. &Trickett, E. (1974), using the Argentina adaptation done by Álvarez, L., Cassullo, G. & Pasman, P. (1998), and the academic of experiences questionnaire reduced (QVA-r) elaborated by Almeida, L., Ferreira, J., & Soares, A. (2001). For the development of the research, the psychometric properties of both instruments were explored, making the relevant adjustments for the mentioned population. In relation to the results of the study, it was discovered that the percentages in which the largest number of students are concentrated in the average trend, which means that this sample of students does not perceive an inappropriate social climate. However, neither does manifest to perceive a favorable social climate. This means the importance that these experiments are given inside the classroom (social climate of the classroom) and the situations in general that are represented in the Educational institution (academic experiences) is not as high as to consider a social climate adequate and some satisfactory academic experiences.

- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoFactores que inciden en el rendimiento académico de las matemáticas en el tránsito de la educación media a la educación universitaria: programa de economía universidad de Cartagena(2019-10-24) Caraballo Ledesma, Diana Liz; Cardona Sánchez, Walter; Herrera Llamas, Jorge AntonioThis research analyzes the factors affecting the academic performance of mathematics in the transition from secondary education to the University of Cartagena’s economic program between the years 2010-2017, which of course offers a different level of mathematics. The analysis was developed through the examination of the Colombian educational system at different levels of education: elementary, secondary, and technical. It allows us to illustrate the state of the educational system in terms of regulations, coverage, dropout rates, and academic performances in mathematics. This information was analyzed according to the Decree 1075 of 2015 through which the single regulatory decree of the education sector is issued, the Statistical Yearbook of Colombian Higher Education 2010 - 2016 obtained from the national higher education information system (SNIES), the socio-demographic study of the population (students) enrolled in the first period of 2019 who attend the first five semesters of the economics program of the University of Cartagena. In addition, the pedagogical processes developed incidence of mathematics performance in student dropout in the economics program. All the previous information was taken from the institutional documents of the university under study which are the fifth edition statistical bulletin (2010 x - 2017) and PEI. On the other hand, the study population was characterized through a representative sample of students of the economics program and interviews of teachers who guide the quantitative component through the Delphi method due to their quality of experts. Similarly, the incidence of performance in mathematics in student dropout was examined, all this based on Becker's theory of human capital (1964), concluding that the information that students have at the time of the choice about economics is insufficient. In addition, the lack of preparation in high school about mathematics makes students dropout and poor performance in mathematics
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoHábitos, técnicas de estudio y rendimiento académico en estudiantes de una institución educación a nivel superior(2021-03-05) Mendoza Benitez, Andrea Vanessa; Uribe Monsalve, Vanessa; Pérez Cabrera, EugeniaThis article aims to develop a theoretical review from the selection and organization of a set of texts and electronic documents related to study habits, study techniques and academic performance in university students, taking into account that habits and techniques are tools or resources that allow students to activate and develop their learning. Objective: To review the scientific evidence on study habits, techniques and academic performance in higher education students. Methodology: A search for information was conducted in different databases (Google Scholar, BASE, scienceDirect, Scielo, Taylor & Francis, ERIC, and Innovare), therefore, only specialized journals in the field of health and education were searched, in which, by using the descriptors chosen as a search strategy, several studies were found in Spanish and English language that addressed the subject of study techniques and habits, highlighting the application of exclusion and inclusion criteria that were taken into account for the search of articles. Results: From the bibliographic search, 10 articles were obtained in which it was possible to demonstrate that three quarters of the researches used found significant differences between the academic performance of higher education students who did or did not practice study habits and techniques. Conclusion: The importance of the review could be evidenced, due to the need to strengthen and evaluate study habits and techniques in students in order to optimize the teaching and learning processes developed in school contexts and thus avoid desertion
