Análisis comparativo sobre las tecnologías de la digestión anaerobia húmeda y seca
(2017-10-04) Grisales Rangel, Stephanie; Arellano Ramírez, Germán; Puello Méndez, Juliana
Initially, this article exhibits a frame of basic concepts about anaerobic digestion (AD), the main difference between dry anaerobic digestion and wet anaerobic digestion consists of the content of total solids (TS) being >15% TS for dry AD and <15% TS for wet AD. The objectives of this article are: to do a comparative analysis of wet and dry anaerobic digestion technologies, to identify the chronological evolution of dry AD, as a more efficient technology, through a timeline of publications; and to contrast the engineering used in dry AD and wet AD to define operative differences in their technology and to compare both dry and wet AD microbiology to establish operative differences in their technology. The research method implemented was a descriptive one. As a conclusion, it could be identified that researches related to dry AD or solid-state AD have been having a crescent growth in the past years and at the same time they have been modeling mathematical models that have allowed the improvement or optimization of this process. Furthermore, it could be clearly established that dry AD and wet AD processes differ a lot although a difference on the microorganisms involved in said processes couldn’t be found.
