    Aplicación móvil para el acceso en tiempo real, por parte de los padres, del progreso académico de los estudiantes de jardín a quinto grado de básica primaria

    Based on a core problematic of low academic performance amongst grammar school students, a focus is set on the need to improve communication between parents and educational institutions in order to provide feedback on relevant activities to ensure an integral evolution of the students. During these modern times, the majority know that the tool commonly used for these endeavors are school organizers to inform parents, but these are limited to basic communication or written warnings. Consequently, it is evident of the requirement for a design of an application that allows parents to have updated access in real time of information about the academic progress and physical integrity of their children through the tracking of school bus routes. Additionally, a functionality is proposed for teachers to highlight achievements and aspects to improve in a more practical and efficient manner. This proposal has been created through the Design Thinking research methodology; because it allows to identify the needs of the clients and to guarantee that design and development satisfy those needs. For the software development, the agile software methodology SCRUM was used, because it offers an incremental software development process and guarantees the fulfillment of the client's needs returning progressive feedback during the development of the application.

    Diseño de altavoces para reproducción de audio binaural en baja frecuencia basado en sistema OPSODIS

    is carried out the design and construction of a low frequency reinforcement for the “Sherwood S7” OPSODIS system, wich guarantees an increase in the reproduction range, it prevents negative changes in the system spatialization and it gives a high quality design thanks to the correct characterization of the speakers using the "Thielle-Small" Parameters, obtaining an aesthetic and funtional system. All the required measurements were specially done to guarantee the correct operation of the reinforcement system. The system was created combining binaural techniques and multi-chanel reproduction, obtaining 3D audio using the OPSODIS system and the low frequency reinforcement with two surround speakers. It is provided a datasheet document that shows all the physical characteristics of the system and the design parameters. The system's design is archieved by a methodology of three stages: characterization, design and construction, and measurements. Finally, we obtain a low frequency reinforcement system with two speakers that can help the OPSODIS system to play 3D audio with a frequency range since 53 Hz to 16 kHz.

    El proceso de desarrollo de proyectos de BI permitirá a Empresas Municipales de Cali llevar a cabo proyectos que provean información de funcionamiento, seguimiento y control, y seguimiento estratégico alineado con las mejores prácticas de Gestión de Datos. Permitirá adicionalmente mitigar el riesgo de pago de multas derivadas de sanciones por reportar de información inconsistente. Abordará la gestión de metadatos, como proceso habilitador de la Gestión de Datos en diversas áreas de conocimiento tales como seguridad, gobernanza y desde luego BI.

    Diseño de un modelo de gestión de la información basado en líneas de tiempo

    The current dynamic organizational scenario, determines a variety of challenges that to overtake; is necessary to involve every time more information of the company and its environment. This has implied that is greater the volume of data available, which makes it difficult to extract the maximum benefit at the time of analysis. The information systems of the organizations supplies the needs of transactional support processes; monitoring, generation of required periodic reports (by the control organization and directives), but usually, it is not enough to facilitate analysis of information, or if allow doing this; the time required for that or specific knowledge are not available. The concept of timelines is academically recognized by the ease to make interpretation of their illustrations, the analysis of information and even the memorise of data. By incorporating the concept of timelines in a model of information management is consolidate a new model to make easier the interpretation of the information. Given previous experience and training in information management at IPS (institutions providing health services), was selected this type of organization like regarding that through a documentary research, was designed the model, that was evaluate by interviews with experts in the field of information management. The interviews showed as the model developed have widely acceptation in the field and how the prototype enjoys a high feasibility of implementation in the area of information systems in health and other areas that the interviewees suggested because its applicability is feasible in any organization.     Diseño de un modelo para el aseguramiento de ingresos en el proceso de ventas en el sector retail usando dinámica de sistemas

    El resultado final de este proyecto es el diseño del modelo que permitirá generar recomendaciones de aseguramiento de ingresos en los procesos de venta de las organizaciones colombianas, específicamente para empresas del sector retail. A través de dicho modelo es posible realizar simulaciones que reflejen el comportamiento de las ventas a partir de las variables contempladas y que representan un gran impacto en su comportamiento y que finalmente, apoyarán de una manera más precisa la toma de decisiones para reducir riesgos y aumentar la rentabilidad. A partir de la construcción del modelo se definirán los indicadores asociados al ciclo de ingreso de las ventas y que tienen gran impacto en su comportamiento.

    Diseño de un sistema de análisis de emociones usando biosensores: caso de estudio en estudiantes de educación superior

    Affective computing it’s a topic of research that works emotions recognition in users, with the aim of making or adapting products acording to the users needs. So, the interest it’s design a system that allow to recognize the emotional state of users throught the emotional valence identification, in search of the generation of a better experience when interact with products, since capture positive emotions in users, allow determine the quality of a product and satisfactions levels in the user.Emotions can be expressed in three ways: physiological, body expressions (voice, visual and body language) and cognitive. This resarch project will be analized the capture of physiological signals using biosensors that allow analyze emotional dimensions taking as measurement the valence and arousal in university students.Physiological sensors are an alternative to measure emotional states of people, because can detect the physiological activity of people in real time. However, each person can manifest different physiological answers expressing an emotional state. So, it must be analized in detail the signal and features of each one of the sensors used.

    Diseño de un sistema integral de vivienda de emergencia sostenible en los municipios de la zona norte del departamento del Cauca

    Esta tesis pretende dar a conocer un proyecto de diseño de un sistema integral de vivienda de emergencia sostenible, que resuelva las necesidades básicas de habitabilidad temporal de las poblaciones vulnerables a causa de desastres naturales o conflicto armado en la zona norte del departamento del Cauca. Esta investigación comprende un desarrollo progresivo que inicia desde la recopilación bibliográfica hasta llegar al resultado del diseño del sistema de vivienda temporal, donde a lo largo del proceso se estudiaron: antecedentes históricos y su relevancia teórica que aclararon conceptos para alcanzar los objetivos trazados, propuestas similares ejecutadas en Colombia y el impacto que han generado, la aceptabilidad de la propuesta, y la pertinencia del proyecto en curso. De esta manera se pudo construir un marco referente para diseñar un modelo habitacional dentro de un sistema de vivienda sostenible, donde se concluye que basado en las condiciones estudiadas de la necesidad y los diseños como respuesta a estas necesidades, es un proyecto que deberá incorporarse a un programa Regional y/o Nacional de prevención y atención de desastres en busca de lograr su realización, con el fin de resolver esta problemática desde los ámbitos: social, ambiental y económico para lograr una ejecución integral y sostenible.

    Diseño de un sistema para la recolección de datos de riego de cultivos: aplicado al cultivo de la caña de azúcar

    The present project aims to design a system for the collection of crop irrigation data applied to the cultivation of sugarcane. It is used to collect information about the irrigation system applied in the sugarcane cultivation by means of sensors and / or users that record the state of the crop daily, this seeks to satisfy a need, in this case to be able to collect information regardless of whether the system is Used with devices of different brands. Now the industry can get the irrigation data you are looking for through multiple options. In order for the objective of the project to be fulfilled requires a uniform operation of all its component parts, it works through applications that allow the input of data to the system, adds new crop variables and sensors, and also provides information reporting obtained from the existing variables, this information facilitates the analysis of the state of the crop. However, it has the integration of hardware elements to emulate the sending of data to the Web Service from a lot belonging to the crop, using an Arduino UNO with wifi module and academic sensors.

    Diseño e implementación de un sistema adaptativo en tiempo-real para la cancelación de crosstalk acorde a la posición del receptor

    This thesis adress the design and implementation of a real-time adaptive system the crosstalk cancellation based on the position of a listener using only two conventional loudspeakers. A numerical analysis is carried out in matlab to simulate the sound field and evaluate the mathematical model for cancellation proposed by Choueiri in [1]. The formulation of the inverse problem leads to certain restrictions that are identified and regularized using two different approaches. A real-time implementation of adaptive system is conducted. Furthermore, an objective metric is proposed to assess the performance and robustness of the crosstalk cancellation scheme

    Diseño y construcción de sistema de detección de tempo de batería y sincronización con Daw

    En este trabajo de investigación se desarrolló un sistema para la detección de tempo de patrones rítmicos interpretados en una batería y la sincronización de pistas musicales dispuestas en un DAW en tiempo real. La investigación se dividió en tres segmentos principales. En la primera fase, se evaluaron diferentes transductores de entrada para adquirir la señal de la batería y determinar el mejor método de captura. En la segunda fase, se desarrolló el software de detección, basado en el método de autocorrelación (ACF) para la estimación de las periodicidades, utilizando las señales obtenidas de la batería. Por último, se evaluó la efectividad del dispositivo y la facilidad de uso del mismo mediante pruebas objetivas y subjetivas.

    Face-Reco. Diseño de un sistema para detección y análisis de rostros

    This project arises as a response to the current need to incorporate face recognition and analysis functionalities in the different software applications. During the execution of the project, a system was built that could detect and analyze faces. To analyze means that the system can determine the gender of the faces identified in the image and can determine an emotion according to the model of 6 basic emotions proposed by Ekman: joy, sadness, anger, surprise, disgust, fear, and a neutral state as the absence of emotion.In this document we formulated a project oriented to the detection and analysis of faces which developed an architecture oriented to web services, so that other developers incorporate functionalities of detection and analysis of faces can use in their systems.According to the results obtained, the greater precision of the system is associated with the emotion of happiness. The masculine gender presented greater errors in classification than the feminine gender. On the other hand, with the emotions of anger and fear, the performance of the system, in terms of classification power, decays.One of the areas in which a significant and growing use of this type of system is observed is related to mobile devices and virtual humans.

    En este documento se aborda a partir del planteamiento hecho por el certamen mundial Electrolux Design Lab en el año 2013, al cual se respondió con una propuesta de diseño conceptual que examino los componentes del planteamiento y esbozo la futura relación del ser humano con las actividades de limpieza, deduciendo que serán oficios difíciles, evadidos e incompatibles para el estilo de vida de las urbes del futuro. La investigación previa al proceso creativo y de generación de ideas, es vital para el nivel de acierto de la propuesta, sin definir el contexto y las problemáticas ampliamente, no se logra ver el abanico completo de oportunidades de diseño. Teniendo en cuenta información tomada de registros provenientes de Naciones Unidas sobre las tasa de sobrepoblación, los bajos índices de fecundidad y como estos inciden es los altos niveles de vejez en la población además identificándolos como la actual generación de jóvenes Millennials, se logró caracterizar al usuario del futuro y determinar porque la limpieza será un problema.

    Sistema Mecatrónico para la Interpretación de la Lengua de Señas Colombiana

    La ciencia y la tecnología están tomando parte en la difícil tarea de ayudar a la comunidad en situación de discapacidad, entre los esfuerzos que se han hecho a nivel mundial para eliminar dichas barreras comunicativas, sobresalen los sintetizadores de voz, que se encargan de convertir en sonido las palabras que el usuario escribe a través del teclado y que se visualizan en una pequeña pantalla. Pero en la tecnología, nada está lo suficientemente bien hecho como para no tratar de mejorarlo, es así como se busca la evolución de los sintetizadores de voz, pero ya no controlados con los dedos sino con el cerebro directamente.
