- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiseño de un producto higiénico íntimo femenino sostenible para contribuir a la mitigación del impacto ambiental en la ciudad de Medellín(2019) Bustamante Higuita, Kelly Vanesa; Marroquín Sierra, CarolinaWith this product development, we seek to contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact generated in the city of Medellín, due to the constant use of feminine intimate hygiene products, which are currently accessed by women of reproductive age between 15 and 49 years of age (DANE, 2005) and those who have menstrual periods for approximately 40 years of their life (ACCIONFEM, 2014). For this reason, the idea of an environmentally sustainable and affordable product has been chosen, which reduces the environmental damage caused by the concentration of feminine intimate products, such as sanitary napkins, panty-protectors and tampons, in landfills and sanitary landfills. Likewise, it seeks to encourage the correct use and disposal, through the graphic support of the packaging and brand development. The research and analysis of the product life cycle, as well as the immersion in the world of users and their contributions to the process, have allowed to generate real and precise requirements, as well as a concept that surrounds the creation of the product, its typology of use and brand creation. The result is a new product called Eva, which efficiently replaces the sanitary napkins and tampons by allowing the user to use it according to their preference as a sanitary napkin or as a buffer thanks to its folding. Like current commercial products, Eva is for single use, however, its material allows it to be consciously discarded and biodegraded under favorable environmental conditions
