    La actividad del disc jockey en Colombia: características y tendencias

    En este artículo se describen las características y tendencias –en el contexto colombiano– de una actividad consistente en reproducir la música en eventos sociales, fiestas, discotecas y en la radio, llevada a cabo por personas conocidas en todo el mundo como disc jockeys (DJ’s). El estudio contó con la participación de cincuenta de estos profesionales de diferentes regiones de Colombia, a quienes se les suministró una encuesta electrónica que indagaba acerca de los géneros musicales, los formatos de uso actual, las percepciones y sus posturas frente al ejercicio profesional. Finalmente, se postula una línea de investigación en el campo de la psicoacústica, cuyo fin es abordar un fenómeno que todavía no es objeto de los desarrollos tecnológicos.

    Al son de Colombia: una propuesta didáctica a partir de la experiencia docente con niños de edades comprendidas entre 7 y 9 años en el curso de Lenguaje musical de la Universidad Eafit

    This work aims to describe the author’s experience as a teacher of the Musical Language course with children between 7 and 9 years of age, in the EAFIT’S University Permanent Education Center, and aims to present the didactic instructions implemented empirically, with the intention of introducing traditional Colombian music into the lectures, and the curriculum established by the Permanent Education Center. The results comprise four sections that collect the following aspects: the essence of personal experience and the didactic strategy used and proposed; the formalization of the teaching-learning concept; the concept of training; the Colombian traditional music in its origins; the music teaching to children and their world of learning through play and singing; the didactic proposal, its founding characteristics and the principles that support it. This research is a reflection, stemming from the author’s teaching and research practices on her empirical didactic commitment (from non-formal education), and on the way in which the children students of the Center for Permanent Education Music Eafit receive this work

    Algoritmo para la identificación de piezas musicales enmarcadas en el folclor colombiano, utilizando MIR y empleando el software Matlab

    In the project an algorithm has developed for the recognition of tropical Colombian pieces using MIR y the software Matlab, for the development of this one, it has been considered to be an algorithm of the literature, though it is applied also to musical different, it has aims similar to those of this research. The algorithm has two stage of work, which are studied separately in order to connect both stages and to obtain the best possible performance, we have been identified a few parameters that intervene considerably in the implementation of every stage. We have realized an important number of essays with different configuration with the aim to establish one. Like final test of the algorithm a field trial has been realized, in order to know response of the complete algorithm in presence and absence of noise.

    The purpose of this research work is to analyze the contribution of children’s music in the developmental dimensions of children aged 2 and 3 years old at the Dame La Mano Children’s Center, as well as to characterize its level of importance, describe its contributions in the developmental dimensions and compile the songs that favor the teaching-learning process and integral development. The research has a qualitative approach; in addition, its method is action-participation, postulated by Hernández Sampieri. Its scope is descriptive participatory, where there are three fundamental bases, which are: to observe constantly, to think from the answers obtained and to act, and propose possible solutions. The instruments for the collection of the information were focus groups and surveys with open and closed questions, in which it was found that children’s music is present in the daily life of children, either from family or educational environments, in which children are motivated and this favors the development of their dimensions. However, it was evidenced that the repertoire used is limited and therefore repetitive. From all of the above, it can be concluded that at the Dame La Mano Children’s Center the educational agents do use children’s music as a pedagogical strategy with a high impact, especially in the corporal dimension; however, it is necessary to clarify that the dimensions of development are integrated and related.

    Carácter estético-artístico-político de las movilizaciones sociales en Medellín Colombia: arte y cuerpos en performáticas

    This research project was conducted with the necessity of understanding the diverse aesthetic-artistic-political character of social mobilizations expressed mainly in marches, protests, streets takeovers and performances. All this considering the context of disagreement and social unrest in the city of Medellin - Colombia in a timeline that encompasses the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively. For such purposes, it was chosen a qualitative research methodology with a phenomenological-hermeneutical approach, trying to comprehend some experiences, life-situations, sensations, feelings and emotional states that arise in social mobilizations in an aesthetic-artistic-political field. It is shown that the body allows the experience of the sensible, being crucial in the ideation, creation and performance of the artistic expression, in addition to inhabiting characteristic realities of the socio-historical-cultural moment to which it belongs. We identify those artists deconstruct various realities, everyday elements, symbolic and non-symbolic elements and reconstruct them, providing a new experience with a high degree of emotional, visceral and physiological impact.

    El Caribe nos une: análisis comparado de letras de canciones jamaiquinas y dos obras del Caribe colombiano

    When a language is taught, we must take into account all the skills for the purpose of reaching an integral learning of this one. But, in the case of the English language we found that for one side when it is taught, the intercultural competence is laid aside and there is more emphasis on other competences, on the other hand, the intercultural competence is taken into account but focusing on one country like is the case of the United States. It is for that reason that the purpose of this research is to show how through the comparative analysis between songs and literary works in English and Spanish in the light of thematology, we can see how our cultural contextiv (the Spanish –speaking Caribbean) gets closer to an anglophone cultural context, in the framework of the intercultural relation.

    To achieve the strengthening of the cultural identity of a city through architecture, is to think about the imaginary of the city that its inhabitants have, through the activities inherited from a people, rooted in their origins. It is in this way that there arises the felt need of a population, which has been called through the history of the Musical City of America, to take a step forward and seek the transformation of cultural scenarios that support an immense legacy of music and folklore that they decorate all its inhabitants. To incorporate to the city of Ibagué, an architectural piece that welcomes the musical and artistic program developed in it; achieving a building thought of the individual needs of each space, by characterizing its use, are powerful design premises to give way to the adaptive comfort of its occupants to the interior, which through the rigorous design from the envelope, can establish coherent relationships between the bioclimatic variables that precede the space and in this way contribute to the building spaces of quality both in the development of its activity, and in the reduction of energy consumption of highly complex spaces, giving way to the CASA DE LA MUSICA -IBAGUÉ

    La construcción de identidad en la infancia y la cultura musical del reggaetón en los primeros espacios de socialización

    In this grade work we wanted to recognize the relationship between building concepts of identity, childhood and reggaetón in the first spaces of socialization of children studying preschool in the Institución educativa Francisco Miranda – headquarters’ Julio Arboleda. The theoretical tracking allowed to find valuable foundation in the contributions of Beatriz Ramírez Grajeda in the identity category moreover Jorge Dany in relation to reggaetón, as well as Marianela Urdaneta García. Assumed the methodology from the ethnographic focus, the observation was made involving, playful-pedagogical workshops, interviews with children and surveys to parents, finding that this music generates an impact especially in the rhythmic and aesthetic fields. Offering a whole culture as well as forms of expression, grown up people, in the family and the school as mediators of content and exposure times, besides the way of communication they are elements very important in the relationship of children with this musical genre.

    Construcción de sujeto-subjetividades y pensamiento crítico en el joven a partir de la música urbana

    Esta obra de conocimiento pretende indagar el proceso de construcción del sujeto joven, su subjetividad y pensamiento crítico en relación con la música urbana identificando de este modo, las implicaciones entre los componentes (subjetividad-joven, pensamiento crítico, música urbana). Para tal propósito, se estructura en tres capítulos acompañados de tres categorías a saber: Sujeto joven, Música urbana y Postura crítica. En relación con las categorías se entrará en dialogo con los autores, lo cual requiere de una metódica que posibilite la revisión minuciosas de sus escritos en razón de describir, interpretar y entender al sujeto joven desde el arte musical como una apuesta distinta de participación social. Por ello es de suma importancia la construcción de un marco conceptual, y referencial, que soporte la lógica de marco, los análisis y resultados concernientes al problema objeto de investigación. La elección de la población objetivo pertinente que posibilite identificar las implicaciones de la música en los modos de ser sujeto y que a su vez, hagan posible la participación crítica del sujeto joven.

    Crear a partir del lenguaje del hemisferio derecho del cerebro

    En este artículo se pretende mostrar la metodología de aprendizaje, utilizada para los alumnos de la facultad de Artes Integradas, Universidad de San Buenaventura. En este caso está enfocado en la aplicación en primer semestre de arquitectura, comenzando así este camino creativo «camino del corazón». El usuario de este semestre es el «yo» como parte del autoconocimiento, «intimidad, alma, entrañas, fondo, interior y corazón» Este proceso comienza a partir de la eliminación de los temores, sintiendo lo que se vive, siendo ellos mismos, expresando y mostrando lo que son, abriendo sus mentes, sacando su verdadero ser; todo esto se logra a partir del lenguaje del hemisferio derecho «expresión corporal, metáfora, música, rituales, etc.» para luego pasar a la parte espacial sintiéndolo propio y parte de su vida.

    Diseño de un método basado en pruebas subjetivas para evaluar la preferencia de usuario de material musical con audio binaural

    Con el presente trabajo se buscó diseñar un método basado en pruebas subjetivas que permitiera evaluar diferentes parámetros (calidad, gusto, familiaridad, espacialidad, externalización, localización, entre otros), en segmentos de una canción con procesamiento binaural y estéreo.  se realizaron las pruebas a 40 sujetos con y sin experiencia en el ámbito sonoro mediante dos pruebas elaboradas en la plataforma de google forms. Los resultados se registraron en bases de datos en Microsoft Excel y mediante el lenguaje de programación Python y R se hizo el posterior análisis en el que se utilizaron algunos métodos estadísticos como coeficientes de Pearson, prueba chi cuadrado y métodos estadísticos más precisos como lo es el ANOVA, el cual fue de ayuda para analizar los datos de una forma más exacta. Los resultados obtenidos en las pruebas dieron razón a que las personas encuestadas en el test A Priori y en el test A Posteriori dieron mayor calificación a las muestras de audio binaural sobre el estéreo, y que el conocimiento técnico y la familiaridad eran parámetros independientes que no tenían relación directa con la preferencia de audio.

    Diseño de una metodología para realizar piezas musicales que permita optimizar su apreciación por personas con implantes cocleares

    The following project consists in the design, application and validation of a musical production methodology, that helps to make special music for users with cochlear implants and seeks to improve the music appreciation of those people. The project is based in previous studies of music perception in people with cochlear implants, those studies are interpenetrated and applied to design a document that contains the methodology, that follows the musical production from its three stages; Preproduction, production, and postproduction, giving step by step how to make special music for people with cochlear implants. Additionally, a validation study of the methodology is carried out, through surveys to musical producers, with which the applicability of the methodology is analyzed. Finally, a music piece is composed following the methodology steps, and a study with a cochlear implant user is made with this music piece, in order to verify the usefulness of the study carried out.

    Dispositivo vibratorio portátil de percepción musical para personas con discapacidad auditiva

    El objetivo principal de este proyecto es diseñar y construir un dispositivo vibratorio portátil de percepción musical para personas con discapacidad auditiva; para esto se hizo una revisión bibliográfica extensa basando el desarrollo del proyecto en anteriores estudios hechos a personas con diferentes tipos de pérdidas auditivas. En este trabajo se muestra el diseño y la construcción de este aparato, además de las diferentes mediciones hechas al componente y la prueba final mostrando el funcionamiento de este usándolo ante una muestra de personas con pérdidas auditivas y haciendo el respectivo estudio estadístico para el análisis del dispositivo final.

    Estrategias espaciales para el aprendizaje de personas en situación de discapacidad auditiva

    The present research work offers from an integrating point of view, for the study between architecture and music. Deepening the relationships between music and the built environments, analyzing how they can influence the musical development of people with hearing disabilities, all this through the spaces destined for creation and, reciprocally, how would the specific characteristics of each place in the different modes and learning styles that can be implemented with this population, highlighting the importance of all the senses in the perception of space, thus eliminating any existing barrier as it is the fact of not having the sense of listening. It will also be addressed, by the hand of a group of speakers who have spoken and reflected on the matter and will be used as a reference to review the history of music, to show the integrating areas of these two arts. In addition, it is evident that musical learning needs a space to achieve its fullness. Architects must transcend in the development of their discipline for their humanistic aptitude and, beyond designing, it is necessary to develop the ability to influence in a different way, thinking simultaneously for each place and specific use, all due to the special conditions of the population served within the project. Bearing in mind that musicians with hearing disabilities require propitious spaces that increase and allow them to be more effective in learning and development, where their limitation is left aside. The concepts put forward by the architect P. Zumthor with their book "Atmosferas" are taken as the main reference, which offered a key parallel as a design structure at the time of intervention and creation of musical spaces that encourage the full development of music or music. musicians and that prompted propitious solutions for them

    In the present exercise of qualitative research of comparative type, from a documentary and hermeneutic focus, it will be compared the way the Red de Escuelas de Música de Medellín, HRT, Colegio de Música de Medellín and the Colegio Alberto Correa Cadavid guide and articulate the different programs that offer musical initiation (Including within this, the process of instrumental initiation) considering in this comparison, the pedagogical strategies implemented for the first approach of the students to the instruments, which should facilitate the selection of the main instrument or emphasis. It is based on the idea that in the stages of musical and instrumental initiation, it is important to favor the instrumental knowledge that allows the child, young or adult to incline towards an instrument or find the one that in a certain way favors him/her the most, to apply later the knowledge acquired during the musical initiation or sensitization, in the interpretation of the stated instrument. In order to carry out the comparative exercise of the different programs, it is begun with the documentation delivered by the schools, in which it is recognized the offer of programs, the attended ages, the way students' interests are taken into account and the strategies to develop the sensory-auditory, perceptual motor, grammar and conceptual, instrumental, vocal, and socio-affective aspects. To obtain a greater understanding of the processes of musical and instrumental initiation, teachers or executives who have clarity and mastery of the training processes of the referring institutions will be interviewed

    Experiencia/Vivencia en la práctica pedagógica musical

    La obra de conocimiento "Experiencia/Vivencia de la práctica pedagógica musical" ha sido elaborado a partir de los estudios desarrollados sobre una estrategia pedagógica que vincule la música y su enseñanza de una manera mayormente participativa de la vivencia, el contexto y prácticas culturales del sujeto que aprende con el ejercicio educativo del practicante de pedagogía en Licenciatura en Música de la Universidad del Cauca - Colombia, en favor de un mejoramiento de los procesos de aprendizaje de la música que remuevan las tensiones entre el desarrollo humano que posibilita el arte y el entorno muchas veces imposibilitante. El análisis de las prácticas pedagógicas imperantes en Colombia demuestra que es necesaria una renovación del ejercicio docente que incluya la vivencia, en su sentido más amplio, entre los conceptos pedagógicos de educación integral. Por ello la experiencia/vivencia que aquí se expone representa el recurso que se pretende se adopte un día por parte de los practicantes pedagógicos de la música, en virtud de hacer del futuro maestro un gestor consciente de los modos de ver el mundo de los estudiantes, sus dinámicas socio-emocionales, y un eje determinante de la cimiente cultural que defina al educador. La práctica musical, unida a la práctica pedagógica, ocupa un lugar privilegiado para nosotros y la vida ciudadana. El reconocimiento de su poder afectivo, estético y ético ha hecho que sea considerada como una actividad prioritaria para la educación de los niños con el poder de transformar.

    Jairo Varela Martínez. No murió un hombre, no murió un músico: murió una época

    Jairo Varela Martínez, como compositor, vocalista, director musical y arreglista, se inició en su Quibdó natal, capital del departamento de Chocó, donde nació de las entrañas de doña Teresa de Jesús Martínez Arce un 9 de diciembre de 1949. Fue el quinto hijo de seis. Desde muy niño mostró habilidades musicales; tanto, que su madre le regaló su primer instrumento musical a los ocho años: una guitarra. “Desde el comienzo ella vio mis aptitudes –comentó Varela hace unos años–. A los ocho años me regaló una guitarra con el poco dinero que había. Imagínense, hizo el esfuerzo de su vida para hacerme ese regalo”. Según Varela, con dicha guitarra comenzó a interpretar los primeros acordes musicales de su vida.

    Music therapy intervention to promote prosociality and to reduce the risk of aggression in children of primary basic and preschool in Bogota, Colombia

    El propósito de esta intervención fue promover la prosocialidad y reducir el riesgo de agresividad en niños de básica primaria y preescolar, mediante la musicoterapia. Se adoptó un diseño cuasiexperimental con pre-test y pos-test, dentro de un programa piloto de prevención temprana de la agresividad, en un nivel secundario dirigido a un grupo específico de niños. Participaron 18 niños entre 5 y 9 años, distribuidos en tres grupos. El grupo uno recibió intervención completa de musicoterapia (30 sesiones), el grupo dos recibió intervención incompleta de musicoterapia (15 sesiones) y el grupo tres o grupo control no recibió ninguna intervención. Los resultados indicaron que la musicoterapia tuvo efectos significativos sobre la agresividad directa de los grupos experimentales uno y dos, pero no así sobre la agresividad indirecta, para los mismos grupos. En cuanto a la prosocialidad, la musicoterapia tuvo efectos significativos solamente en el grupo dos. En este caso específico, podemos concluir que la musicoterapia se convirtió en una estrategia de prevención secundaria con respecto al riesgo de agresividad directa.
