- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAnálisis del deterioro de una señal de audio transmitida por radio frecuencia analógico y digital en refuerzo sonoro(2018) Mass Vieira, Miguel Antonio; Ladino Velásquez, AndersonThe radio frequency transmission systems (RFTS) analog and digital are an important part of the electroacoustic chain involved in a sound reinforcement. These systems provide a great versatibility for the excecution of designs. However, the information available about these systems is not completly clear. Therefore, a protocol has been designed and implemented to characterize audio transmiters bodypack type, allowing to evaluate the existence of deterioration of the signal transmitted. For this protocol the influence of variables is estimated for analog and digital RFTS; the variales taked into account are distance, transmission power, output level, sensitivity and gain. The analysis included represents a new tool for audio operators and sound engineers as it describes the behaviour of RFTS for different common configurations. The subjective perpective is common rule of thumb used for decision that involve RFTS, the protocol here presented will help professionals to make an objective assesment of the possible situations. At the end, the best conditions to characterize any audio RFTS type bodypack are shown
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAuralización del sonido transmitido por vía aérea a través de dos adecuaciones diferentes para un tabique simple, considerando distintas locaciones de oyente(2017) García Mosquera, Juan Sebastián; Tafur Jiménez, Luis AlbertoThe design of the acoustic insulation of a building requires professional supervision during the planning and construction stages, the above because actually is necessary to guarantee an acoustic comfort that permit developed adequately activities with suitable background noise levels; for this some variables were considered such as the construction zone and the behavior of the different external sound sources that affect the façade, among others. This research proposes a method to auralize the noise that enters into an enclosure by air through one of the walls of the structure. The auralizations were obtained through the application of geometric acoustics models using CATT-Acoustics software and considering different source arrangements, several receiver points and two different adaptations for the facade of the room. The obtained auralizations for the evaluated receptor points show differences in the SPL and in the frequency content, however, it is necessary to analyze additional receiver points and compare the method proposed with measurements in real situations

- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoIncrementar la reducción del tiempo de reverberación mediante la ubicación estratégica de material absorbente en los máximos absolutos de velocidad de partícula(2019) Gómez Román, Luis Felipe; López Mejía, SebastiánIn the theory of geometric acoustics, a series of phenomena based on the reflections of sound waves in the limits of a room are studied. There are two phenomena that are usually given more weight in a conditioning. These are the vibration modes and the reverberation time. The reverberation time is defined as the time it takes the sound energy to decay 60 dB after the emitting source is interrupted. The modes of vibration are the interaction of the incident waves and the reflected ones product of the surfaces of the enclosure. In the latter, sound pressure maxima and minima are produced due to the superposition of the waves. These phenomena are usually treated with different types of absorbent materials that have a certain absorption. This absorption depends to a large extent on its porosity. The absorbent materials work under the principle of energy transformation, and this transformation occurs thanks to the friction of the particles in the immediacy of the material. The greater the velocity of the particles, the greater the absorption that each material provides. These particle speed maxima occur in the vibration modes of the room, more specifically at the pressure minima. With this premise, placing the absorbent material at maximum particle velocity, the reverberation time has been optimized 29% in the 125 Hz band for two classrooms at the University of San Buenaventura Medellín, San Benito.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoSíntesis por modelado físico de un tiple colombiano mediante guía de ondas digitales(2017) Giraldo Monsalve, Juan Pablo; Moreno Viasus, Ricardo AndrésThe purpose of this research is to analyze the acoustic behavior and the physical characteristics of the Colombian treble (tiple). With the objective to synthetize and emulate the sound using the waveguide synthesis developed by Julius Smith. It is important to obtain the parameters of the treble finding the relevant data of each string like linear density, frequency, mass and speed of sound. With this information recollected is feasible to make a parameterization of the delay line of each string and construct the waveguide equations. After this procedure it is necessary to code each equation using Matlab taking special attention to the losses of each string by the nut, and the bridge of the treble. To simulate the sound produced by the sounding board of the treble, was necessary make an impulse response measurement, later a code was programmed to filter the signal and clean it. Finally, make the convolution code. Afterwards a correlation analysis between the real sound and the synthesized one by the model proposed made to compare both signals. The result was an algorithm capable of emulating the sound of the twelve strings of a typical Colombian tiple being played into the air.
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoUltrasound wave transmission between human tissues using the boundary element method(2016) Morales Del Corral, Juan Diego; García Mayén, HéctorThe ultrasound wave transmission between human tissue layers was investigated in this project, aiming for a focal stimulation of the auditory nerve on the cochlea. A simulation of the transmission was implemented with the boundary element method in order to visualize the behavior of the ultrasound wave. The ear and some basic information about its function are presented. Some acoustic parameters for the boundary conditions are written. The results obtained show transmission between layers and a 30 dB attenuation on the cochlea caused by the transmission. It is proposed a source array with multiple ultrasound sources, using phase differences between the sources to focus this way the area desired for stimulation, because the results with one acoustic piston source, producing a plane wave are not satisfactory for a focused stimulation.-- Grupo GIMSC.-- Línea de Investigación: acústica y procesamiento de señales.-- Área: acústica.-- Tema: ultrasonido
