- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoAnálisis del desarrollo portuario de la ciudad de Cartagena de Indias(2018-10-10) Sáenz Mercado, Viena Del Carmen; Vásquez Marrugo, Karen Dayana; Lozano Burgos, Ana PaulaThe main objective of this research is, to analyze the development impact of the Port of Cartagena de Indias on 3 specific aspects, territorial ordering, foreign trade and human capital of the city. These aspects have been selected because on them, the changes have been more significant and their situations quite particular. The territorial ordering of the city in relation to the port has been marked by growth and development, as a result of the investments budgeted for it. Thanks to this, the Port of Cartagena de Indias was to receive only 2 vessels with steel armor in the 19th century to receive more than 4 thousand vessels per year and be among the first 5 positions in the ranking carried out by ECLAC in the movement of the port every year. The analysis of the behavior of foreign trade is carried out over the last 5 years, with emphasis on the last 2 years, in all aspects related to the port. Finally, human capital is analyzed from a comparison of how it was before and how it is now, and in its relationship with the port, the aspects of trained personnel and the number of jobs generated by the port are exposed.
