- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoDiferentes roles de tres profesionales de psicología en los cuidados paliativos pediátricos(Universidad de San Buenaventura, 2017) Valencia López, Paula Vanessa; Arévalo Lozano, Mariana AlejandraThis study focuses on problem tizar the role assigned, the assumed role and the possible role of three professional psychology who work in the area of palliative care given to pediatric patients in the city of Cali / Colombia, from stories built on their work, their experiences and ideas, as well as from the strategies used to intervene with children and their families around the terminal disease. The research was conducted using qualitative method with descriptive scope, through interviews applied to the professionals concerned. Through analysis of the stories of three professionals, it was found that although the assigned roles are aimed to provide information and the intervention of an inter and multidisciplinary team makes a lack of clarity in scope versus immediate intervention. Regarding the role assumed by the psychologist found based on their own conceptions of what it means life and death, which is permeated by their experiences and theoretical approaches. And finally, the possible role it was possible to demonstrate that their work is primarily psychological and emotional support to the child and family in the disease process, treatment and end of life, using strategies such as; Accompanying authorization of medicines, games and artistic expressions directed at children, stimulation tools for children with neurological problems, creating spaces parent group self-care and parenting guidelines; using resources guided imagery, relaxation, videos and talks about authority, individual intervention, phone accompaniment to after the child's death parents.
