The field of interest is especially focused on the interior of the multiple buildings that the city possesses with valued and traditional orientation made climate comfort, which sometimes leaves aside those who are economically unable to incorporate techniques that improve their quality of life at the housing level
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoEstrategia de diseño en el espacio público del Parque de las Luces de Medellín, para el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida urbana(2018) Mejía López, Ana María; Uñates Álvarez, Camila; Cuervo Calle, JulianaIn what way can a strategy that favors the stay of the users of Parque de las Luces of Medellín be materialized? The public space of the park is not very suitable to the needs of the people, due to the growing urbanization that increases the loss of green spaces, especially in the central metropolitan area where it is located, the park is currently used as a crossing area towards other sectors of the city due to its physical-spatial conditions, but due to the need for spaces "to be" it has been welcomed by the citizens as a short stay space, meeting point and mobilization and displacement area. What the project intends is to materialize a strategy that encourages permanence and a short and prolonged stay in the Parque de las Luces considering the aesthetics and needs of use of the place. For the development of the same, 5 theoretical bases were taken into account: Quality of urban life: (Clos, 2013 cited in Geahl, 2014), Urban equipment: (Fleitman, 2011, p2), time of permanence: (Gonzales. 2009, p.12), proxemics: Piñeda, A. in his text "Proxemic human being by nature", public space (Rangel, M. 2009, p.1). The methodology was defined based on making several visits to the park, in which observations were made, from which photographic records, surveys and interviews were collected, in specific days and hours and then highlight the elements such as furniture, people and different ways of appropriating public space. Fieldwork included elements such as park design concepts, users with their respective activities and routes in space, and identified interferences between the design thought and the current use of the park. From the above, a strategy supported by objectual design was reached, involving the three entities, the historical value of the park and the concept of light without neglecting the generation of shade, the sense of freshness and the interactivity of users with the object and the park
- PublicaciónAcceso abiertoFachada vegetal en edificaciones tropicales : la doble piel vegetal como filtro térmico y lumínico en edificaciones tropicales de altura(2018) Pineda Briceño, Luis Eduardo; Naranjo Gaviria, AlejandroRecent studies on vertical greenery and plant facades in tropical latitudes different from Latin America, with the ideal environment and the greatest diversity of plants and plant species. The objective of this study is to monitor the behaviorM of air temperature, on two balconies with different orientations and whose façade is resolved with plant elements. The measurements were made in a balcony oriented to the north and another to the west of an urban building in the city of Medellin, locating two sensors in each, at 0.30 m. of distance, n relation to the inner and outer surface of the same case. Data was collected during a month using thermo hygrometers type HOBO Data Logger, protected by a radiation barrier. The data were analyzed using tables and graphs to make comparisons between both cases and determine their behavior in relation to the comfort zone according to an adaptive method. During the day and night, the internal temperature in both cases varies between 2 °C to 4 °C during the day as the minimum and maximum registered value. Therefore, the plant facade isolates the external temperature during the day and night constantly
