Abstract
The following paper aims to study civil liability applied to high-performance athletes, considering it a topic of great current relevance, given the large number of new sports disciplines and the risks they generate, added to the fact that, currently, in the local environment there are few institutions dedicated to research on the subject and the current legislation in this field is also limited; For this reason, it is important to mention that sports civil liability should be an object of study in the law career, however, we find that, within higher education institutions, it is necessary to incorporate it within the academic curriculum, since Currently there is only one law school that dedicates its study to this topic and from a graduate level, such as the University of Medellín. This being a legal article of a comparative, hermeneutical and qualitative nature, approaches to the concept of civil liability applied to high-performance sports will be established in conjunction with the study of sentences and related legal norms

El siguiente artículo tiene por objetivo estudiar la responsabilidad civil aplicada a los deportes de alto rendimiento, considerándose un tema de gran relevancia actual, dada la gran cantidad de nuevas disciplinas deportivas y los riesgos que generan, sumado al hecho de que, actualmente, en el entorno local hay pocas instituciones dedicadas a la investigación sobre el asunto y la legislación vigente en este campo también es poca; por ello, resulta importante mencionar que la responsabilidad civil deportiva debe ser un objeto de estudio en la carrera de derecho, sin embargo, nos encontramos con que, dentro de las instituciones de educación superior hace falta que la incorporen dentro del pénsul académico, puesto que, actualmente solo hay una facultad de derecho que dedica su estudio a este tópico y desde un ámbito de posgrado, como lo es la Universidad de Medellín. Siendo este un artículo jurídico de carácter comparativo, hermenéutico y cualitativo, se establecerán aproximaciones al concepto de responsabilidad civil aplicada a los deportes de alto rendimiento en conjunto con el estudio de sentencias y normas jurídicas relacionadas
